Dr Gareth Parry is a consultant physician in cardiac transplantation at Freeman Hospital.

Having qualified from the Welsh National School of Medicine, Cardiff, my career took me progressively further and further northward until I arrived in Newcastle in 1986 to train in cardiology.

I have been responsible for the long-term care of cardiac transplant recipients since 1991.
