Professor Rajiv Das is a consultant interventional cardiologist at Newcastle’s Freeman Hospital specialising in the treatment of patients with coronary artery disease and valve disease using coronary intervention and TAVI (transcatheter aortic valve implantation).
Professor Das is skilled in performing coronary angioplasty treatment for patients suffering with angina or myocardial infarction. In addition, he operates on patients with severe aortic stenosis and performs ‘cutting edge’ key-hole procedures to replace aortic valves called TAVI.
A visiting Professor at the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences at Northumbria University, Professor Das has a regular commitment to teaching and supervising students which he thoroughly enjoys.
