Ward1b specialises in the treatment and rehabilitation of children and young people with head injuries who need medical and surgical care.
Ward visiting times
Visiting times should be arranged with the ward manager.
Play facilities on the ward
The ward has a playroom for children who are patients on the ward including, arts and craft activities, board games and puzzles, books and stories. There are games consoles in many of the cubicles, the bay area and also in the teenage and parent shared area. There is also a sensory room and a separate room where the physio & occupational therapists are based.
Location of ward
Ward 1b is on level two of the Great North Children’s Hospital in New Victoria Wing of the RVI.
